The Bricksmith helps families and collectors assemble new sets, rebuild damaged models, organize sets for storage, and recover mixed collections.
You do not need to choose the correct service. Send a few photos and I will recommend the most practical next step. When the project appears to be a good fit, I will also provide a written scope and quote.

New Set Assembly
You have a complete or unopened set and want the finished model without spending the time building it yourself.
Broken or Disassembled Set Rebuilding
A set was dropped, partly taken apart, abandoned during the build, or is now loose pieces that need to become a model again.
Disassembly & Re-Bagging
A completed set needs to be carefully taken apart and organized for moving, storage, resale, or rebuilding later.
Mixed Collection Recovery
Several sets or loose pieces have become mixed together and you want help identifying, separating, or recovering what matters.

NEW OR COMPLETE SETS
New Set Assembly
New Set Assembly is for customers who have a complete LEGO® set but would rather receive the finished model than spend hours building it themselves.
A good fit for: large sets you do not have time to build, gifts that need to be assembled before a special occasion, or display models you would simply prefer to receive completed.
What to expect: The set is assembled from its instructions and checked throughout the build. If a missing or damaged piece prevents progress, I will document it and discuss the options with you before replacement pieces are purchased.
Local projects are welcome. Sealed or securely organized sets may also be suitable for mail-in service.
BROKEN, DROPPED, OR PARTLY BUILT
Broken or Disassembled Set Rebuilding
A set does not need to be completely shattered to need rebuilding. I can help with models that were dropped, partly taken apart, abandoned during construction, or stored as loose sections.
A good fit for: damaged completed models, partially disassembled sets, unfinished builds, or one identifiable set that has become loose pieces.
What to expect: I document the starting condition, identify the set and instructions, organize the loose sections or pieces, and rebuild from the most practical point in the instructions.
Missing pieces are identified when they affect progress. Replacement parts are not purchased without your approval.
MOVING, STORAGE, OR FUTURE REBUILDING
Disassembly & Re-Bagging
Completed LEGO® sets can be carefully taken apart and organized so they are easier to move, store, sell, or rebuild again later.
A good fit for: collections being moved, sets coming off display, projects being prepared for storage, or sets you want to rebuild in the future without starting from one large bag of pieces.
What to expect: The set is carefully disassembled and organized into clearly labeled bags using the method agreed upon for the project.
A full piece-by-piece inventory is not automatically included. Completeness verification can be added when it supports your goal.
MULTIPLE SETS OR LOOSE COLLECTIONS
Mixed Collection Recovery
When several sets, loose pieces, minifigures, instructions, or partially built models become mixed together, you do not need to sort everything yourself before asking for help.
A good fit for: collections mixed during a move, family LEGO® bins containing several sets, inherited or secondhand collections, or customers who want to recover selected sets without sorting every piece themselves.
What to expect: Depending on your goal, the project can include identifying likely sets, separating recognizable groups, rebuilding selected models, creating missing-piece lists, or preparing recovered sets for storage.
Larger collections can be divided into phases so we agree on what matters most and where the project should stop before unnecessary work is performed.
GETTING YOUR PROJECT TO THE BRICKSMITH
Local pickup is the default. Some projects can also be mailed.
Greater Portland Pickup & Return
Local service is usually the simplest option for completed models, fragile damage, large sets, mixed collections, and projects involving several boxes or storage bins.
Pickup and return are available throughout Greater Portland and nearby communities depending on project size, location, and scheduling.
Selective Mail-In Service
Mail-in service may work well for sealed sets, securely bagged single sets, and smaller organized projects that can be packed without creating additional damage.
Please complete a photo assessment before shipping anything. I will confirm whether mail-in is appropriate and explain the packing and return requirements before the project is sent.

Receive an Assessment
I review the project, identify the best service or combination of services, and ask for anything else needed to define the scope.

Approve the Scope
If the project appears to be a good fit, you receive the proposed work, important boundaries, fulfillment method, and written quote before deciding whether to proceed.

Complete & Return
Once approved, we arrange the local handoff or mail-in process. I complete the agreed work and coordinate the safe return of your project.

Missing pieces can be identified when they affect the project or when inventory verification is part of the agreed scope. Replacement pieces are not purchased without your approval.

Yes, in some cases. Inventory Verification and Missing-Piece Identification most often support rebuilding, re-bagging, or collection recovery. Standalone verification may also make sense when one identifiable set is already separated and reasonably organized.

Some projects can be accepted by mail after assessment. Sealed sets and securely organized single-set projects are generally better candidates than large completed models or mixed collections.
