START WITH THE PROBLEM

You do not need to know which service to request.

I’ll recommend the most practical next step and provide a written quote when the project appears to be a good fit.

Something broke

A dropped, crushed, or partially separated model may be repairable without starting over.

Pieces are mixed together

Loose parts from one or several sets can be assessed, sorted, and organized when there is enough information to work from.

The build was never finished

A sealed, opened, or partly assembled set can be completed from the instructions and materials provided.

A set needs to be taken apart

Completed sets can be carefully disassembled and organized for storage, moving, sale, or a future rebuild.

SERVICES

Practical help for the condition your set is in.

Every project begins with a free assessment. The recommended service depends on the set’s condition, how the pieces are organized, what information is available, and what you want the finished outcome to be.

Set Assembly

New, opened, or partly built sets completed from official instructions or other instructions you provide.

Rebuilding & Repair

Damaged or partially disassembled models assessed and rebuilt using the pieces available.

Sorting & Collection Recovery

Mixed pieces can be assessed and organized to identify likely sets, separate projects, and determine realistic next steps.

Disassembly & Re-Bagging

Completed sets carefully taken apart and organized into labeled bags for storage or rebuilding.

Inventory verification and missing-piece identification may be included when appropriate. Replacement parts are quoted separately and are never purchased without your approval.

LOCAL FIRST, NATIONWIDE ACCESSIBLE

The right handoff depends on the project.

Every project begins with a free assessment. From there, I will confirm whether Greater Portland pickup or approved mail-in service is the safest and most practical option.

The handoff plan is confirmed before you book.

Approved mail-in projects across the U.S.

Mail-in service is available for projects that can be shipped safely and practically.

After reviewing your information, I will confirm whether the project is a good fit, provide packing guidance, and explain the return plan in your quote.

Large, fragile, or already-built models are evaluated case by case.

HOW IT WORKS

A clear plan in four steps.

1

Send Info

Share photos, the set name or number if known, your goal, your location, and any timing needs.

2

Receive an assessment

I review the project and recommend the most appropriate service. I may ask for a few additional photos or details.

3

Approve the scope

If the project appears to be a good fit, you receive a written scope, quote, and pickup or shipping plan before you commit.

4

Complete and return

Your project is documented, completed according to the approved scope, and returned using the agreed method.

PROJECT CARE

Your set is documented and kept organized throughout the project.

Handing over a collection or display set requires more than building skill. The process is designed to reduce confusion, prevent unapproved costs, and keep you informed.

Intake documentation

The project’s condition and contents are photographed and noted at intake.

Labeled handling

Loose pieces and project sections are kept in labeled containers assigned to your project.

Missing-piece handling

Missing or questionable pieces are documented. Replacement purchases require your approval before an order is placed.

Progress and completion photos

For larger or more complex projects, updates are provided at useful milestones.

Agreed return plan

Pickup, packing, shipping, and return expectations are confirmed as part of the approved scope.

Any proposed change to the approved scope is discussed before additional work continues.

MEET THE BRICKSMITH

Hi, I’m Josh. I handle every project personally.

Josh, owner of The Bricksmith, building LEGO models with his niece at a table.

The Bricksmith is a small, owner-operated service based in North Yarmouth, Maine.

I started it because I genuinely enjoy the parts of LEGO® building that can feel tedious or overwhelming: sorting, troubleshooting, following instructions, and bringing a project back under control.

Every project stays with me from the first photo assessment through return. You communicate directly with me, and your project is not passed to a team or subcontractor.

PROJECT EXAMPLES
